Sonu Sood’s aspiring cricketers is worth reading about

To be a superhero you don’t need a cape. Sonu Sood explained the former line like no one else amidst the lockdown. The actor’s humanitarian work during the lockdown to help many locals to reach their hometown and help students from overseas to come back to India was exceptionally overwhelming. No wonder the actor is now looked upon as God and even has a temple in his name in a village in Siddipet.

According to reports in Times Of India, locals of Dubba Tanda village in Siddipet have built a temple in honour of Sonu Sood. The temple inaugurated on Sunday and an aarti was performed with the locals in full attendance. Giri Kondal Reddy, a Zilla Parishad member, said, “Sonu Sood has done a lot of work during the pandemic and has attained the place of god by his good deeds. Hence, we have built a temple for him. He is a god for us.” Ramesh Kumar, who’s one of the members who planned to build the temple further sings praises for the actor, “The way Sonu Sood has been helping people since the lockdown due to the pandemic has not just been recognised by India but the world. So, on behalf of our village, we decided to build a temple for him. Since his actions have made him god like, pujas will be offered to honour him.” The sculptor even said that he created his small idol as a gift for him.

Sonu Sood was ecstatic to know about this and sharing his views to Hyderabad Times he said, “This is an extremely overwhelming moment. But having said that, I feel that I don’t deserve this. I’m just a common man who has helped his brothers and sisters.” He even said that he will one day visit the temple in person, “I would love to go and visit the temple. I plan to go soon and with folded hands, I will humbly thank the villagers for the love and respect they have shown towards me.”

It won’t be wrong to say that a man who shows character in times of need is appreciated by one and all. So has been the case with actor Sonu Sood. Last year when the entire country was in a state of distress due to the pandemic, Sonu helped thousands of displaced people to reach their native places amidst the lockdown. What followed was him helping many more people with different things who reached out to him. He soon became the face of help in the country. Now, the actor has come out with yet another initiative. This time for emerging cricketers. Talking about the same, he told a leading daily, "I always dreamt of becoming a cricketer but I didn't have a platform in our small town, but when I see all these young kids playing cricket it feels really good."

He added, "I like batting as well as bowling but I didn't get much time to play the sport. I feel we all should take some out from our busy work schedules and reinvent our passion. Sometimes when you see these kids playing not just cricket but any kind of sports, you feel motivated to follow them," adding that he has had discussions with Cricfit founder Mikkail Vaswani on "creating a platform on a pan-India level where they (children) can explore their skills and enjoy the sports". Now how cool is that?

Sonu Sood has helped thousands of people during the pandemic. Last year he was doing his bit for migrant workers, to send them home safely during the lockdown and this year he is doing his fair share of work to help those suffering from COVID-19. Sonu has come out and built a foundation that is helping thousands of people free of cost. Sonu revealed in a tweet recently that helping people gives way more satisfaction that any Rs 100 crore film ever will.

A lot of stars have gone out of their way to help those in need during the coronavirus pandemic. The outbreak of the coronavirus left several people stranded and jobless in different cities across the country. One person who acted like their messiah was none other than Sonu Sood. The actor utilised his resources to make sure people could travel back home during the pandemic. And by doing this relentlessly for months now, he has become a saviour for the migrant workers of Maharashtra.

And now his latest initiative is set to take his efforts a notch higher. He has launched an app that will help them get jobs quickly. Talking about the app, the actor said, “Lot of thinking, planning and preparation have gone into designing this initiative over the last few months, in order to ensure that it is holistic and builds on the work already being done in the country. Extensive consultations have been held with top organisations that are involved at the grassroots level in skilling and placing the youth below the poverty line, NGOs, philanthropic organisations, government functionaries, strategy consultants, technology startups and above all the returned migrants whom I have helped”

Pravasi Rojgar has over 500 reputed companies related to construction, apparel, healthcare, engineering, BPOs, security, automobile, e-commerce and logistics sectors, offering job opportunities and will also have special training programs like learning how to speak in English. Yet another commendable act by the star!

Ever since the lockdown came into place, Sonu Sood has emerged as a real-life hero.  The actor has been tirelessly helping migrants get back to the safety of their own homes and has also made several donations to organisations who aim to provide relief to those in need during these testing times.

Now, after helping thousands across the country, Sonu is looking to solve the troubles of Indians living in different parts of the world. Today, a netizen wrote to the actor, “There are around 50 plus students in Georgia Tbilisi who want to come back to India from Tbilisi. Please help @SonuSood. I have been tweeting all day and night. Please bring my brother back. our grandfather has expired, the family is in huge depression .” Sonu was prompt to respond to the tweet and wrote, “New Mission. On it.”

Sonu Sood has done a lot for the people during the lockdown. The actor has helped several people in need during the pandemic and has got acknowledged for his wonderful work too. Be it migrant workers, students or farmers, the actor has done his bit to make sure the pain of thousands eases out. The latest initiative he has contributed to involves the installment of a mobile tower in Morni, Haryana. A video went viral on social media where a student was seen sitting on a tree to catch signal to attend online classes in Morni and Sonu was tagged in it. Soon the actor helped out the children of the village with proper internet facility by getting a mobile tower installed there.

Talking about it Sonu said in an official statement, “Children are the future of our nation and they deserve an equal chance to a better future. I believe such challenges should never stop anyone from reaching their full potential. It is my honour to help set up a mobile tower in the remote village to help these kids access online classes. They no longer have to climb trees to catch mobile signals.”
